5 ECTS | Self-paced online course | 1 June – 31 August 2024
Students familiarise themselves with the most common Finnish phrases and learn basic vocabulary and grammar to be able to manage everyday situations in Finnish.
The course establishes the foundation for studying the Finnish language. The intended learning outcomes equal reference level A1 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The language of instruction of the course is English.
It is suitable for any student interested learning the basics of Finnish. You need to possess good digital skills, be highly motivated for independent
studies.
Learning outcomes
Students
- Identify and understand simple and short Finnish words and sentences spoken at a tranquil pace.
- Identify and understand simple and short words and sentences in written Finnish.
- Are able to produce a moderate number of simple and short words and sentences in both spoken and written Finnish.
- Manage simple discussions and everyday situations in Finnish.
Methods
This is a self-paced Finnish course for total beginners who will learn the basics of Finnish through independent studies in a Moodle learning environment. This means that there will be no live classes given.
